High Winds in Las Vegas Delay Work on Monte Carlo

January 29th, 2008 . by Robb Cheuvront

Work on repairing the damage from last weeks fire has been delayed. Officials at the Las Vegas Monte Carlo still don’t have a date for reopening the hotel.

Since work could not go forward yesterday on the outside of the building, construction workers moved inside the building to help with repairing smoke and water damage to the top most floors.

Clark County building officials say the building is safe from the 26th floor down, but can’ be reopened until damaged facade material is secured or removed.

Nearly 6,000 guests and workers were evacuated on Friday and many left belongings they could not carry behind.

Work on the outside will proceed as soon as the weather permits.
