Las Vegas Casinos on Losing Side of Super Bowl
February 4th, 2008 . by Robb CheuvrontThe sports books in Las Vegas are waking up with a bit of a hangover today. The Los Angles Times is reporting that the Casinos may have lost on 90 percent of the money line bets.
A money line bet is a strait up bet that one team or the other will win the Game. The casino sport books, like most of the experts, liked the the 18 and 0 Patriots. Most Vegas casino sport books made the Giants 12 point underdogs, so the Giants fans that just bet them to win ended up winning big.
Eli Manning used a few David Copper Field escape tricks and tossed a big gain to David Tyree in the 4th quarter. Then, Manning passed the game winner to Plaxico Burris for the game winner and the Patriots said good by to a perfect season and the casino sport books said goodbye to their cash.
